GIMTINE (MOTHERLAND)
Switched off. The Lithuanian feature tells about a family settling some mundane legal matters. Only lawyers can be possibly interested.
LESSONS OF LOVE
Watchable. The Italian movie is another mundane story but without red tape. Superficial and stereotypical. A bit unpleasant: ugly people, an ugly village. The relationship is between a fat cow breeder and a stripper. Good music but just occasional.
LESSONS OF LOVE DIRECTOR Q&A
The director told the actress to act the stripper as if she was detached from her body and the dance was just automatic - that first helped the actress, then she realized that was actually the character.
Both films were too quiet and had too small subtitles to allow watching form a distance. But the screenings went smoothly.
