SPLAT! FILM FEST ONLINE

SHORT FILMS

VAR AR VARGEN? (WHERE IS THE WOLF?)

Watchable. Mysterious, with scarce yet atmospheric music, a clear-cut story, fine performances and skillful superimpositions in the visual layer. IScandinavian-way peaceful and pleasant. Lacks novelty though. It's just a decently recycled pattern. The title's inexplicable in the context, unless it means something more contextual in Swedish.

POLTER

Watchable. Satisfactory plot, filling the 11 minutes completely. Quality visual effects. One image was on the verge of being scary which was too harsh for a satire. The ending disappoints, too stereotypical.

AD LIB

Watchable. I loved the idea with moving or catching subtitles by hand. But the love and violence plot is too ordinary.

POTWOR Z BAGIEN (SWAMP MONSTER)

Watchable. A comedy with elements of satire on Polish society, on documentary-making and a mockery of "The Blair Witch Project". Entertaining, with a few surprises up the sleeve. Amateurishly acted though. The sound could be more professional too.

MOURN

Watchable. A brilliant supernatural story with a psychological second bottom ruined by a schlock ending, incongruent with the plot and with tun-of-the-mill devilish voice-change.

All films were perfectly audible and had subtitles visible from a distance.
