WARSAW KOREAN FILM FESTIVAL

최선의 삶 (SNOWBALL)

Watchable. Either teenagers are so irrational or I didn't get the movie. To me it's just deplorable. The plot is all over the shop. Every character seems to have issues. The film was still interesting enough though as an image of everyday Korean culture.

세자매 (THREE SISTERS)

Switched off. A bunch of weirdos including one rowdy drunken woman. The three sisters are: one religious, one alcoholic and hysterical and one with cancer. Why on earth would I want to watch that?! The most woeful film of the festival.

Seen online. Cinematic reception might differ.

Only the opening and closing movies had Polish and English subtitles, all others had only Polish ones. The catalogue was wonderful: clear, informative, with text legible in dimmed light and with photos from the movies. Even weaker movies offered a glimpse into Korean culture.
The two cinema screenings I went to were as safe as it gets in Poland: nearly everyone was wearing a mask.

WIKING TAPPI ZESTAW 2 (TALES OF TAPPI THE VIKING SET 2)

Watchable. Scripted by the author of the book it's based on. The series gains from the big screen due to the lovely colours, especially of the ground or water with bits of melting ice floating in it. The tales are very positive, even baddies are honourable so they're quite pleasant. Still, the stories being so naive and the animation simple, the films will most likely delight just the youngest children.
